After seeing a need for eco-conscious and non-toxic candles, Bahar founded Bella Organic Candles.

Bahar used her science background in engineering to concoct a candle wax that is food based — no paraffin or harmful ingredients.

She wanted vibrant branding photos for her website and social media, images that convey the peacefulness of candles. So she brought some candles to my Minneapolis studio.

The fragrance was intoxicating! The juniper fir candle smells like Christmas. The vanilla chai latte candle is calming and luxurious.

Because they are handmade, Bella candles are customizable in scent, color, size and shape. They make great gifts.

In her free time, Bahar enjoys being with her family, going to the gym, practicing the French language, playing piano and of course, relaxing at home with a flickering candle nearby.

Physician Headshot | DR. ABBIE

Dr. Abbie is a naturopathic doctor who practices holistic medicine in Plymouth, Minnesota. She came in for headshots for the clinic’s website.

She works with patients to discover and treat the root causes of disease. Dr. Abbie sees all types of patients and has a special interest in working with women and children. She enjoys watching kids grow into healthy lifestyle habits.

In her free time, Dr. Abbie enjoys hanging out with her husband and their two dogs, relaxing with a cup of hibiscus tea, listening to country music, and cheering for her hometown team, the Packers.

Entrepreneur Headshot | CADEN

Caden founded a company that works to improve integrative chronic disease recovery methods. His interest in the life sciences stems from his younger brother’s battle with kidney cancer.

Caden came in for professional headshots to propel his job search as he prepares to graduate from college.

Outside of class, Caden works for a venture capital firm that invests in med tech growth stage companies.

In his free time, Caden enjoys the outdoors — snowmobiling in the winter, wakeboarding in the summer. And he “never turns down an opportunity to go cliff jumping.”

A true entrepreneur, Caden doesn’t shy away from risk. Especially when the reward is innovation that improves lives.

Attorney Headshot | MAIJA

Maija is an attorney with a New York-based law firm. She works remotely from Minneapolis and she came in to the studio for a fresh headshot for the firm’s website.

Her law firm focuses on antitrust cases where business competition and consumer protection are at stake.

Maija specializes in discovery, which is gathering evidence for trial. She enjoys the challenge of finding information that will be pivotal at trial and lead to justice.

Teacher Headshot | BROOKE

Brooke is an elementary school teacher. She loves building relationships with students and watching them grow throughout the year. It was a pleasure having her in my studio.

The tattoo on Brooke’s arm reminds her to Be Curious. As an educator, she is instilling curiosity and a love of learning in young people. Brooke’s work with children is an investment in the future. For that, she deserves an A+!

On weekends, Brooke enjoys playing pickleball, listening to country music, and spending time with friends and family, including her identical twin sister.

Podcast Host Headshot | CARA

Cara is multifaceted.

As vice president of operations of a manufacturing solutions company, Cara manages business growth and efficiency.

She also has an entrepreneurial spirit and is launching a podcast for women this fall. The podcast will be a space for conversations about defining your life purpose, trusting your soul, and sharing the journey with others.

She came in for fresh and vivid headshots to promote her podcast.

In addition to being a businesswoman, Cara is a mom of 3 boys. You’ll find her cheering them on at their soccer games. In her free time, she likes to travel, read, and spend time in nature.

Have you seen the show Criminal Minds?

That’s Lexi’s dream job: being a forensic psychologist.

A fresh college graduate, Lexi is aiming to use her psychology degree and behavioral analysis skills the workplace. Her new headshot will help in the job search.

In her free time, Lexi enjoys trying out new Twin Cities restaurants, watching movies, going fishing, and doing arts and crafts.

With her strong work ethic and friendly personality, she will be an asset to her new employer.

Model Headshot | BEN

Ben came into my Minneapolis studio for a model headshot.

Ben plans to major in business or finance in college. When he isn’t studying, working his sales job, or modeling, you’ll find him on a golf course. His favorite golfer is Bryson DeChambeau because “he’s fun to watch”.

He also enjoys wake surfing, lifting weights, playing poker with friends, and hanging out with his dogs.

But the cornerstone of his life is faith and family. He knows what really matters and it guides every decision he makes.

Actor Headshot | ELAYNA

Elayna is professional dancer and dance instructor preparing for a move to New York City. She came in for actor headshots for upcoming auditions.

Dancing since she was 5, Elayna loves the way movement transcends language and has the power to tell a story. Jazz is her favorite dance genre.

When she’s not in the dance studio, you’ll find Elayna enjoying the outdoors, reading a book (this summer she read “East of Eden”), sipping an iced latte at a coffee shop, or spending time with family and friends.

She is looking forward to making new connections in New York, going to the theater (“An American in Paris” is her favorite show), and making her mark in the performing arts world.

Paralegal Headshot | KRISTI

Kristi is a paralegal at a Minneapolis law firm which represents clients in family matters such as divorce or custody disputes.

She wanted an updated headshot for the firm’s website. It was a pleasure having her in my studio.

Although she has been in law for 20 years, Kristi says she still learns something new every day. “I enjoy learning about the law,” she said.

As a breast cancer survivor, Kristi is resilient and she knows how to persevere. She brings this attitude to her work each day as she advocates for clients and fights for families.

To relax, Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, sitting by the pool, boating, vacationing in Florida, and listening to country music.  

Nonprofit Director Headshot | JAMES

James is the housing director at The Link, a nonprofit that works with youth and young families to overcome homelessness, poverty, and social injustice.

I had the pleasure of taking team headshots at The Link headquarters in Minneapolis.

As housing director, James is passionate about guiding young people to better lives.

In his free time, he enjoys yard work (even shoveling snow!) and riding his motorcycle.

As VP of Human Resources for a cybersecurity firm, Meghan helps drive organizational growth and foster a culture of excellence. She came in for a fresh headshot as part of a company website update.

In her free time, Meghan loves being on Minnesota lakes and supporting her kids’ school and sport activities.

She also enjoys music and recently saw the Beach Boys in concert. Her favorite tunes though are anything from the Brat Pack era like Sinatra.

With her dynamic personality and purple mohawk, Dr. Amelia lives the mantra: Be Yourself.

Dr. Amelia is a communication consultant focused on professional development and leadership training. She is passionate about empowering women.

That’s why she wrote the book “Hello Ms. Perfect: Navigating the Path of Perfection and Claiming Your Identity” which will launch this fall. She came in to my studio for a powerful headshot for her book.

Dr. Amelia also owns The Women Collective, a retail experience and platform for women to showcase their product-based businesses. The Women Collective is in White Bear Lake.

In her free time, you can find her lounging in the pool, sipping an Americano, or watching her son play hockey. She also enjoys concerts. Her family recently went to see Noah Kahan and she “dragged” her husband to New Kids on the Block (and had a blast).

Dr. Amelia embraces authenticity in herself and others. When I explained that I retouch photos, she asked me to not remove the scar on her head where she had melanoma. She’s keeping it real.

Her passion for elevating communication, inspiring change, and embracing authenticity is making an impact — one woman at a time.

Financial Advisor Headshot | FISHER

Fisher starts his first professional job on Monday, so he came in to my Minneapolis studio for a fresh headshot. He is training to become a licensed financial advisor with US Bank.

After graduating from UW-Madison last year, Fisher moved to Utah and worked at a ski shop. Skiing everyday was a perk of the job.

When he’s not on snow, Fisher likes to be in water. This summer, he enjoys wake surfing on the lake. This fall, he is going to the Boundary Waters with friends to camp and fish (walleye is his favorite).

He also likes to travel and recently went to Japan. In addition to exploring the Japanese culture, he visited Pokemon card shops. Fisher started collecting Pokémon cards when he was a kid and he has amassed quite the collection.

He also travels to Grateful Dead concerts. He has seen them in concert 4 times (so far).

Now he turns his focus to studying for the financial advisor licensing tests. As he builds his career, he will no doubt discover that:

Jennifer’s career is in medical device sales and management. She came in to the studio for an updated headshot.

She enjoys working with physicians and administrators, promoting innovative technology and modern treatment facilities.

Outside of work, Jennifer likes spending time with her family, boating on Lake Minnetonka, and traveling. Her favorite destination? St John US Virgin Islands. But Jennifer is happiest near home, on the lake.

Bill is a family law attorney. He represents clients in divorce, adoption, and other family law matters. Bill enjoys the challenge of problem solving and is a fierce advocate for his clients.

He came to my studio to get a strong headshot for his website and LinkedIn profile.

In his free time, Bill likes boating, hockey, riding his Harley, and listening to country music.

He brought a cowboy hat to his headshot session. Boots too. I love when a client wears something fun that reflects their authentic personality.

As an occupational therapist, Betsy helps children with disabilities or injuries develop and recover daily living skills.

Betsy took time from her busy schedule to come in for fresh headshots.

Outside of work, Betsy enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks with friends, and playing tennis, volleyball and pickleball.

She likes to stay active and her work helps kids stay active too. Her compassion and encouragement will guide kids toward independence.

Kadee is a busy mom of 4. The morning of this photoshoot, she made chocolate chip pancakes for her kids and packed school lunches before arriving at my studio.

Kadee has a very full schedule and she manages it all fueled by a zest for life and a passion for helping others achieve financial health.

The human voice is irreplaceable. That’s where Susie’s national company, A Quality Answering Service, comes in.

They are the first impression for their clients. The answering service allows businesses to be available 24/7, 365 days a year — so there are no missed opportunities and customers are heard.

Susie came in for fresh headshots that represent her professionalism and personal style. Her favorite color is pink, so she brought pink shoes for a pop of color.

As president and owner of the company, Susie travels a lot. But she always makes time for her active family, whether it’s cheering her son on at motocross competitions, preparing her daughter for the move to college, RV-ing across the country with her husband, or hanging out at the family farm in Minnesota.

Susie knows the value of personal connection, and her business clients do too.

Mindset Coach Headshot | CLAIRE

As a pediatric audiologist and certified mindset coach, Dr. Claire helps moms gain confidence and stop generational patterns, so they can be the role model they want to be for their kids.

Dr. Claire came to the studio for dynamic headshots and branding images for her website.

In her work, what is the most common challenge moms face? Overwhelm and guilt. I hear that!

Dr. Claire enjoys spending time with her young family. She volunteers as a troop leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. In her free time, she enjoys watching the Packers or listening to good music. Led Zeppelin is her favorite band, and she proudly wore a Zeppelin shirt to this shoot.

As Dr. Claire guides women in discovering confidence and purpose, her work will have a lasting impact on many families. That’s better than a stairway to Heaven!
